VASCO is known as a city of slums, prostitution, high degree of crimes, dust pollution, where our own Goemkar has become minority overnight.

KALANGUTE is known as village which has lost its characteristics as a village, known for its concrete jungle, drugs, prostitution, children abuse, Drug abuse where our youth has become a liability for their parents and society.

A huge township of approx.700 houses / Bunglows / flats is being approved in Property bearing survey no 64/01 and 67/01 at Tamdeg (Property popularly known as Chulibhat.).

The said project if approved will have a disastrous effect on the lives of not only residents of Tamdeg, but also on the whole village of Carmona in terms of basic infrustructure such as supply of drinking water, supply of electricity, Garbage Disposal, Sewerage system, narrow roads leading to the projects, and contamination and depletion of ground water resources. Also to and fro access to the banks of the river sal will be blocked and curtailed.

As per present statistics, Carmona village has approx. 1050 houses, The above project is nearly 60 % of the whole Carmona village.. Tamdeg ward alone has 150 houses, the above project is four times the size of present Tamdeg ward.. The approximate population of Carmona is 4500 people. The above project will alone bring around 3500 more people in the village. Think of the pressure the project would impose on the basic infrustructure such as roads, water and electricity in real terms. The project has already done us one permanent damage, it has benchmarked the property rates at Rs. 2500 per square meters in their sale deed .Can the locals afford such high rates? Are we all prepared to accept all this? This project will only profit the multinational company and outsiders.

At present People from Carmona are not getting 24 hours water supply, There is no sufficient pressure in the pipelines to fill our overhead tanks. The taps are always dry during the day. The electricity supply is not proper and the power failures are everyday phenomena. No doubt some initiatives are taken by the Government to address some of the issues in recent times and work is in progress, the twin water tanks and the existing electric supply network will not be able to take the load of the huge demand which will be created by these projects.

You know that our corrupt politician and bureaucrats take money and approve these projects without conducting any technical / feasibility study vis a vis the ground realities and the result is VASCO AND KALANGUTE of today. Struggle against RP 2011 is fresh in our minds and now it is SEZ’s. Your own village Panchayat Representatives all seven of them are not saints, they are answerable to you. Force them to hold Gram Sabha and discuss the project with the people. Attend in large numbers any meeting called for the purpose. We want balance development of our village. In the past you opposed the housing board project in the same property for the same reasons, now repeat the history.

This is not a fake call. The names of the persons in the forum are kept secret because of security reasons. The names will be revealed at the appropriate time. This is our promise.

THINK OF THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREEN, IF SUCH COMMERCIAL PROJECTS ARE APPROVED THERE WILL BE NO LAND LEFT FOR OUR CHILDREEN, THIS IS THE FIRST PROJECT IN THE VILLAGE, THERE MAY BE MANY MORE IN FUTURE. IF YOUR CONCIENCE AGREES THEN ACT NOW AND OPPOSE AT ALL LEVELS AND ATTEND MEETINGS WHEN CALLED.
